Back in town. With a bottle of single Malt under my arm

My holidays, correcting term papers, sifting through the bumpf that has hit my desk while I was away and the need to follow the news of the current financial crisis have kept me both from posting here and from commenting elswhere.

I was the more pleased, flattered and honoured to be quoted in so laudatory a manner by Kotare in re one of my 1st comments after my absence.(Fabius on Islay Single Malts).

Holiday reading: "Black Mischief" by E. Waugh and "Frédéric et Marie Thérèse" by the Duc de Broglie (finished tome premier, second one waiting).

In view of Fabius Maximus`s mention (Legal experts discuss if the Paulson Plan is legal) of the German jurist Carl Schmitt I`ve taken "Die Diktatur" out of my antilibrary and to put is on my "read next" pile which is 5 feet high.

FM is not FMC, I must add. His comments are always worth reading, whether you agree with him or not.

I am of two minds about the blogger Spengler (E pluribus hokum or When the gamblers bail out the casino) on Asia Times but this piece is quite interesting.

I am looking for a good single malt whiskey myself to try. Until then it's Crown Royal.
